The Defenders fell in game two of Saturday's Florida opener, as Lawrence Tech used a productive 8th inning to come away with the win.

It was a pitching battle early on as only three total hits were surrendered until the 3rd inning. Lawrence Tech got on the board in the bottom of the 3rd, scoring on a fielder's choice on the double steal attempt.

The Blue Devils added to their lead in the 4th when Jacob Llaneza hit an RBI single through the infield to make the score 2-0.

Dordt was held down on the basepaths as Lawrence Tech continued to build momentum through the later innings to seal the win.


Logan Horne pitched 6.0 innings, striking out 12 batters

Carter Scott struck out two in an inning of relief

Anthony Rodriguez Klinzing went 2-4 with an RBI

Chase Edwards hit 1-3 with an RBI double


The Defenders will play again on Monday at the Lake Myrtle Sports Complex versus Cornerstone.
