The Dordt University men's track and field team had three individuals and one relay qualify for nationals in today's Concordia Early Bird Invite held in Seward, Neb.
Payton Mauldin met the "A" standard and won the 800m with a time of 1:54.3. Mauldin has now qualified for nationals in two events as the sophomore set a school record and qualified in the 600m at last week's SDSU Open. Cole Zevenbergen finished second in today's 800m with a time of 1:59.
Davis Tebben set a meet record and met the "A" standard with his time in the 3000m. Tebben won the race by over six seconds with a time of 8:38.3.
Joe Anderson won the mile and met the provisional / "B" mark with a time of 4:20.
The 4x400 relay finished second and met the auto mark with a time of 3:20.7. Relay members include Mauldin, Zevenbergen, Micah Brands and Grant Brouwer.
Logan Franken placed among the top eight in a pair of sprints today, finishing eighth in the 60m (7.09) and fourth in the 200m (22.8). Micah Brands was sixth in the 200m.
Brouwer placed third in the high jump, clearing 2.01m (6-07).
