Northwestern def. Dordt 11-5
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Dordt Defender baseball team lost an 11-5 decision Northwestern on Thursday night in Orange City, Iowa.
Dordt got on the board with a single that scored Logan Cline but Northwestern answered with two in the first and another two in the second. A three run third inning expanded the gap to 7-1.
Anthony Klinzing homered in the fourth to start Dordt’s comeback and Chase Edwards clubbed a two run homerun in the fifth. Dylan Stanley had a solo homerun that got Dordt as close as 7-5 when the fifth ended. Northwestern closed the game with four unanswered to make the final 11-5.
THE NUMBERS
Dordt was outhit 12-7.
Chase Edwards and Dylan Stanley each had two hits and two runs batted in.
Gyeongju Kim pitched three innings and was charged with seven runs and struck out three.
Mike Bruell and Chaz Gothard worked the final three innings and Gothard struck out four.
