HOW IT HAPPENED

The Dordt baseball team matched up with Hannibal-LaGrange in the first game of Friday's doubleheader, falling 13-5 at Chain of Lakes Park in Winter Haven, Florida.

The Trojans went ahead early, scoring six runs in the 1st inning, using a 3-RBI triple to spark their scoring outburst.

Dordt answered in the visiting half of the 2nd as Aaron Eshelman singled to right, sending home Jae Kim and Dylan Stanley.

Hannibal-LaGrange added on another six-run inning in the bottom of the 6th, using four hits to extend their lead to 13-2.

The Defenders created offense in the 7th as Nolan Christianson and Luke November reached in back-to-back plate appearances to score Oliver Walczak, Christianson, and Logan Cline, however the offensive output in the inning was not enough to catch up with the Trojans.
