HOW IT HAPPENED
Northwestern scored a run in the second, one in the fourth and one in the fifth on the way to a 3-1 win over the Dordt Defenders in game one of their doubleheader on Tuesday afternoon in Sioux Center, Iowa.
Dordt’s run came in the bottom of the seventh when Karli Olsen homered to right-centerfield but the next three batters were retired in order for a 3-1 final.
THE NUMBERS
Dordt was outhit 5-2.
Olsen had her homerun and Brooklyn Van Oort singled for Dordt’s two hits. The homerun was Olsen's fifth of the season.
Abby Kraemer absorbed the loss and struck out nine with four walks and five hits allowed. Two of her runs were earned.
