HOW IT HAPPENED
A three run fifth inning by the hosts was too much for the Dordt Defenders to overcome in game two of their doubleheader on Saturday afternoon in Seward, Nebraska. The hosts held on for a 4-2 win to salvage a split in the opening day of Great Plains Athletic Conference play for the Defenders.
Concordia scored a run in the first inning with Dordt answering in the fourth inning. Jessica Flaherty singled in Emma Groen for the run after Groen led off the inning with a double.
The Bulldogs knocked four hits in the fifth inning and scored three runs to lead 4-1 and Dordt didn’t threaten again until the seventh inning when they managed to get a run in but left the bases loaded.
