The Dordt University women's track and field team totaled 13 top-10 finishes at the USD Alumni Track and Field meet held at the Dakota Dome in Vermillion, S.D. 

Four Defenders placed among the top 10 in the 5K race, led by Margaret Myskowski who finished sixth with a time of 18:55. Lucy Borkowski (19:08), Eden Winslow (19:14) and Greichaly Ellens (19:26) finished right behind in 7th - 9th place.

Alexandra Beckmann qualified for the finals and finished sixth overall among 28 runners in the 60m with a time of 8.17. 

Anika Homan placed seventh in the mile with a time of 5:24 and Anna Herman finished 10th in the 400m (1:03.4). 

Cassie Brandsma, Mikayla Balt and Paige Decker carried the Defenders in the field events, each posting a top 10 finish. Brandsma placed eighth in the high jump (1.57m) and Balt was ninth in the long jump (5.0m). Decker placed 10th in the triple jump (10.02m).

The Defenders will compete in the SDSU Invite next weekend for one final tune-up prior to the GPAC Championship on Feb.19.
