The Dordt University women's track and field team had two individuals and one relay qualify for the NAIA Indoor National Championships at today's SDSU D-II Open held in Brookings, S.D.

Jessica Kampman met the qualifying standard in her second event of the indoor season, placing fourth in the 5000m with a time of 17:57. She currently has the fastest time in the conference, 14th in the NAIA. Kampman met the provisional (B) standard in the 3K last week.
Bethany Ten Haken met the provisional standard in the 800m this afternoon, becoming the third Defender to qualify in the event. Ten Haken won today's race with a time of 2:17.4, finishing just ahead of Jennifer Clark (Northern State) by less than a second. Ten Haken has the second fastest time in the NAIA, behind her teammate Anmarie Stuit while another teammate, Mika Kooistra, is fourth in the NAIA.
The Defenders won the final event of the meet, the 4x400 relay, and met the auto standard with a time of 3:55.82. The team of Anmarie Stuit, Emma Bakker, Emilee Heynen and Mika Kooistra have the second fastest time in the conference, third in the NAIA.
Dordt accounted for 34 points and placed fifth out of 19 teams. The Defenders totaled seven top 10 finishes in individual events and one in a relay.
