Six members of the Dordt University women's track and field team won their respective event at today's home meet, the Dordt Open. 

This was the third meet of the indoor season and first of the new 2022 year, 

Three Defenders, Sadie Clark, Mikayla Balt and Paige Decker, claimed first place in a field event. Clark won the pole vault by clearing 2.8m (9-02.25), currently the 11th best mark in the conference. Balt won the long jump with a mark of 5.35m (17-06.75), over a foot further than the second place jumper. Balt currently sits with the eighth best mark in the GPAC. Decker took first in the triple jump with a leap of 10.15m (33-03.75), four inches better than her teammate, Balt, who claimed second. Decker sits in seventh place in the current GPAC rankings. 

Mika Kooistra crossed the finish line first and won the 600m with a time of 1:39.68, just ahead of teammate Emilee Heynen (1:39.9). Kooistra and Heynen rank second and third, respectively, in the GPAC. 

Bethany Ten Haken won the 1000m with a time of 3:13.01, five seconds faster than the second place runner.

Jessica Kampman cruised to the 3000m title, crossing the finish line in a time of 10:33. Lucy Borkowski placed second (11:09). 

The Defenders turned in a total of 32 top five finishes in today's meet, all are listed below.
