The Dordt University men's track and field team won six events competing at its home meet and outdoor season debut. 

Payton Mauldin was the first Defender to qualify for the NAIA Outdoor Championship, doing so with a first place finish in the 800m and a time of 1:51.2. Mauldin's time is the fastest in the GPAC and sits in No.3 at the NAIA level.

Cole Zevenbergen won the 400m (49.81 - 5th best in the GPAC) and both he and Mauldin, along with Micah Brands and Peyton Miller, combined to win the 4x400 with a time of 3:19.2, fastest in the GPAC and ninth in the NAIA.

Trey Engen and Eric Steiger each won their respective distance event. Engen crossed the finish line first in the 1500m (4:01.98), currently second best in the conference, while Steiger won the 5K with the fastest time in the GPAC (14:51) and second fastest in program history. Seven additional Dordt runners joined Steiger with a top 10 finish in today's 5K.

Grant Brouwer was the lone Defender to win a field event, taking first in the high jump (1.95m), tied for sixth best in the GPAC. Devin Bos was the runner-up in the long jump with a personal best jump of 6.7m, fifth best in program history and currently fifth in the GPAC.

"We had an outstanding home meet to start off the outdoor season. Overall our athletes performed well and there were strong performances both in field events and on the track. Notable performance included Payton Mauldin in the 800 (A standard 3rd on national list), Cole Zevenbergen (1st in the 400m) and Trey Engen(1st in the 1500m) and the 5K (Defenders finish 1-6; Eric Steiger winning).  Devin Bos had a huge personal best and second place finish in the long jump while Grant Brouwer won the high jump in leading our field events."
