Roy Griak Invite
The Dordt University men's cross country posted their best ever finish at today Roy Griak Invitational held at the Les Bolstad Golf Course in Minneapolis, Minn.

Competing along side 28 teams, most from the NCAA D-II and D-III ranks, Dordt finished seventh in today's 8K race with 190 points. They were second among NAIA teams competing, behind only top-ranked Indiana Wesleyan (3rd w/ 98pts).
Eric Steiger was the first Defender runner to cross the finish line, placing 25th with a time of 26:12. Steiger closed the race strong, passing several runners over the final 2K of the race.
Davis Tebben and Jacob Vander Plaats followed close behind, in 31st and 32nd place, with times of 26:22 and 26:24, respectively.
Nicolas Veldhorst (47th - 26:41) and Joe Anderson (55th - 26:50) round out the top five for Head Coach Nate Wolf's squad.
"The Defender men had another strong outing today," stated Coach Wolf. "Eric Steiger led the men’s team for the first time this year, racing in the cool and rainy weather conditions reminiscent of his home (Lynden, Washington) to an outstanding top 10 team finish. Jacob Vander Plaats, Davis Tebben, Nic Veldhorst, and Joe Anderson crossed the line within 38 seconds of Eric to round out a strong scoring top 5. Peter Shippy and Ethan Summerhays ran incredibly strong races to finish in the top seven on the team and place in the top 77 among the 374 runners."
Dordt's top five runners split was 38 seconds; 1-7 was just over a minute.
