Recap
The Dordt Defender women’s golf team is tied for fifth place after day one of the GPAC 2021-22 Golf Championship. Rounds one and two are hosted by The Bluffs in Vermillion, South Dakota with day two being played on Tuesday, October 5.
The Defenders shot a 348 and are tied with Mount Marty for the fifth spot while Dakota Wesleyan, Jamestown and Briar Cliff are five, six and nine strokes in front of the Defenders. Morningside leads the field with a 304.
Dordt was led by Rachel Bostwick with an 83 and she is tied for 10th while Kerri Kroeze holds a tie for 14th with an 86. Bailey Weg shot an 89 and is tied for 24th while Emily Knoche and Gianna Van Klaveren each shot 90 and are tied for 28th in the 59 golfer field.
Morningside’s Sofia Castelan leads the field with a 74 and is two strokes in front of her nearest competitor.
