Dordt def. Kansas 8-3
HOW IT HAPPENED
Dordt hockey pushed their winning streak to five games with a road win on Friday night, defeating Kansas 8-3.
The Jayhawks took a 1-0 lead in the opening minutes on a goal from Luke Hansen, but the Defenders answered halfway through the first period as Dawson Kaemingh tied the game at 1-1. Kaemingh found the back of the net again later in the period to give Dordt a 2-1 lead heading into the intermission.
The Defenders then scored four in the second period, with Jonah Weems and Noah Wilmes each scoring twice. Kansas added a late goal to make the score 6-2 after two periods of play.
The Defenders continued to expand their lead as it was Jonah Weems who added another two goals to his total. The Jayhawks scored in the final minutes of the game, but another impressive offensive performance allowed Dordt to win game one of the weekend.

The Defenders will have a week off before hosting Iowa State on Friday, November 5. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 PM in Vernon Arena.
