Dordt def. Omaha 8-2

HOW IT HAPPENED

Dordt faced Nebraska-Omaha for the third time this season on Friday night, moving to 3-0 versus the Mavericks.

The first period was evenly matched, as it took until the twelth minute of play before the Defenders scored on an unassisted goal by Dawson Kaemingh. Nebraska-Omaha answered with a goal of their own from Max Sikora, but the Defenders added another on Drew Vreugdenhil's shot that was deflected into the goal. Minutes later, Jacob Petrie scored to make the score 3-1 in favor of the Defenders.

Each team added a goal to their totals in the second period, as Noah Wilmes scored from the top of the offensive zone on an assist by Eli Visscher.

The third period belonged to the Defenders, a team that scored four goals in the final 20 minutes. Kyle Espenson, Noah Wilmes, and Karson Martin each scored one goal in the third to give Dordt an 8-2 win at home.
