Dordt def. Colorado School of Mines 4-2
HOW IT HAPPENED
Defender hockey finished the weekend with two wins after defeating Colorado School of Mines on Saturday. Dordt is now 4-1 on the season.
Dordt jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period as Kyle Espenson scored in the opening minute, followed by a goal from Jonah Weems. Shortly after, Colorado Mines made the score 2-1 after a goal. Dordt scored one more goal in the opening period as Sam DeJong's unassisted goal.
Neither team scored in the second, but Colorado Mines' James McCall scored late in the third to cut their deficit to one. In the final minute, Kyle Espenson scored his second goal of the game to secure the win for the Defenders.
