HOW IT HAPPENED

Dordt hockey bounced back with a big win on Friday, defeating Colorado Springs on the road.

The Defenders opened the game with four goals in the first period. Kyle Espenson scored twice to give Dordt a 2-0 lead, and Alex Espenson and Noah Wilmes rounded out the first period with goals of their own.

Colorado Springs started the second period by adding two goals and cutting the Dordt lead to 4-2. In the next five minutes, Dordt added three more goals as Alex Espenson, Eli Visscher, and Noah Wilmes each scored. The Defenders finished the second period with a 9-2 lead.

Dordt extended their lead on two goals by Noah Wilmes to leave Colorado Springs with an 11-3 victory.
