Air Force def. Dordt 6-3

HOW IT HAPPENED

Dordt hockey was handed their first loss of the season at Air Force on Thursday, falling 6-3 on the road.

Air Force jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period as Jason Kleinhans scored a power play goal in the opening minute of the game. Seven minutes in, Mackenzie Miller scored on the 5-on-4 to give the Falcons a two-goal advantage. Dordt cut the deficit in half as Jonah Weems found the goal midway through the opening period. Following another goal for Air Force's Mackenzie Miller, Dordt's Sam DeJong scored his first goal of the season to make the score 3-2, but Air Force scored once more in the period to go into the second with a 4-2 lead.

The Falcons added two more to their lead in the second to extend their lead to four, and Alex Espenson put the puck in the net once in the third, leading to a 6-3 final.
