Dordt def. Jamestown 77-6


The Dordt Defender football team had no problem in its season finale with a 77-6 win over the Jamestown Jimmies on Saturday afternoon in Jamestown, North Dakota.

The Defenders took advantage of a Jamestown offense that couldn’t get going and struck for two quick scores in the first five minutes with a Nik Wellen five yard run and a 43 yard run by Kade McDaniel.  Jalen Placide set up a third score with an interception and return to the Jamestown seven and Jungling went in from two yards out for a 21-0 lead.

Dordt’s tight ends got into the action with a pair of scores later in the quarter with Hayden Large going 47 yards off a completion from McDaniel and Kaleb Sharp caught a four yard pass from Jungling to make it 35-0 at the end of the first quarter.

Dordt added another Large reception for 24 yards and Aidan Platon ran 10 yards for a 42-0 halftime edge.

The third quarter started with Dordt going 74 yards after a defensive stop with Anthony Trohan going 39 yards and Daniel Dickerson raced 17 yards for a score to cap a 41 yard drive. Jungling scored his third and final touchdowns on a five yard pass from McDaniel for a 70-0 lead after three. 

A Jamestown score broke up the shutout early in the fourth and Josh Bush was the eighth player to score for Dordt, getting around the edge for a 42 yard score and made the final 77-6.


Dordt outgained Jamestown 677-235 with 218 yards passing and 459 rushing while limiting the Jimmies to 213 passing and 22 rushing.

Kade McDaniel was 6-8 passing for 98 yards and three touchdowns.  McDaniel also ran for 97 yards on seven carries.

Aidan Platon was 6-8 passing for 65 yards and he ran for 18 yards.

Josh Bush had 126 yards on 16 carries and Anthony Trojahn ran seven times for 102 yards.  Nick Wellen added 91 yards on seven carries.

Levi Jungling caught five passes for 102 yards and Hayden Large had two for 71 yards and both were touchdowns.

Drew Daum had five solo tackles and three assisted stops with two tackles for loss.

Ian McDonald had two solo and four assisted stops.

Colton Vander Berg, Caden Hill and Chase Stowe all had one sack and Tanner Millikan and Jalen Placide each had an interception.

Dordt finishes the season 7-3 and has seven wins in a row for the fourth straight season.

Jamestown ends the year with a 2-8 mark.
