HOW IT HAPPENED
Dordt and Northwestern faced each other in a top-25 matchup on Saturday afternoon, as the Red Raiders defeated the Defenders to remain undefeated on the season.
Northwestern marched down the field on the opening drive, which ended in a touchdown pass from Tyson Kooima to Konner McQuillan to give the home team a 7-0 lead.
Dordt's first scoring drive was highlighted by a 35-yard rush for Nick Wellen that set up the Defenders in plus territory. The drive ended with a goal-line run for Tyler Reynolds that made the score 14-7 Northwestern before the first quarter break.
The Red Raiders went for six on their next two offensive drives to take a 28-7 lead before Tyler Reynolds scrambled to his left and found Eli Boldan in the end zone from nine yards out to make the halftime score 28-13.
Trailing 41-21 late in the third quarter, Levi Jungling caught a 17-yard touchdown pass over two Red Raiders that pushed the score to 41-28.
Northwestern closed the fourth quarter with three passing touchdowns that secured the lead, defeating Dordt 63-28.
