HOW IT HAPPENED

The Defenders hosted Northwestern in a late-season GPAC competition in which the 21st-ranked Red Raiders won in a 6-1 contest.

Northwestern scored three times in the opening part of the game and kept the ball on their side of the field through a majority of the contest. Niklas Fitter later scored on a penalty kick late in the half. Northwestern continued to hold their lead throughout the rest of the game.

Santiago Carvajal scored for the Defenders in the final minutes of the game to make the score 6-1.
