HOW IT HAPPENED
The Dordt Defenders surrendered two quick goals in the first five minutes of the second half and were unable to overcome William Penn in non-conference action on Friday night in Sioux Center.
The Defenders gave up goals to Chanin Olandin and Luke Andrews in the 15th and 32nd minutes to trail 2-0 at halftime. Two more goals quickly in the second half pushed the score to 4-0. Dordt got on the board with a Blake Hansen goal in the 65th minute off an assist by Ethan Ward to make the score 5-1 at the time. William Penn’s Gianmarco Centrella scored his third goal of the game in the 78th minute to end the scoring.
The visitors had a 16-8 shots on goal advantage and Brandon Hansen made 10 saves in goal for Dordt.
The Defenders are 0-2-1 and will host Clarke on Saturday at 6:15. William Penn is now 4-1.
