- Dordt loses to No.25 Jamestown, 2-0
Dordt University fell to No.25 University of Jamestown 2-0 in a conference match played tonight on the frozen tundra in North Dakota.
The Defenders are now 4-5-1 and in ninth place in the GPAC with two matches left in the regular seaon. They are 9-6-1 overall.
Jamestown remains unbeaten, improving to 9-0 in the GPAC, 14-0 overall.
The Jimmies scored a goal in each half, netting the game winner during the seventh minute on a shot by Iliana Ramirez. Jamestown struck again early in the second half on a goal by Eve Hoppe.
Dordt totaled five shots on goal, one each by Sarah Miller, Claire Jansen, Avril Baccam, Katherine Kooiman and Jori Bronner. Jenna Wright made eight saves over the full 90 minutes.
The Defenders will host Doane on Saturday, Oct. 23 at 1pm for their final home match of the regular season. The four seniors associated with the Dordt women's soccer program, Madison Byl, Hannah Glynn, Claire Jansen and Jaclyn Vander Waal, will be recognized prior to the match.
