DETAILS

Dordt used a three-hit 1st inning to score the first run, as Hannah Sikkema hit a leadoff single to start the game. Sikkema advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt and scored off of Hailey Heeringa's two-out single.

William Penn took the lead in the bottom half of the inning, using a four-hit inning to take a 2-1 lead. They scored three in the second to extend the lead to four runs.

With two outs in the 7th inning, the Defenders looked to string together a series of hits. Jessica Oules hit a shallow single to reach base. In the next at-bat, Hannah Sikkema hit a double deep to left field, scoring Oules. William Penn pitcher Bianca Castillo got the third out on a foul pop fly.
