Northwestern (OH) def. Dordt 7-4


Dordt got out to a quick start in the 1st inning, with Hannah Sikkema and Ella Koster leading off with back-to-back base hits. Sikkema then scored on a throwing error, and Ella Koster scored on a fielder's choice. The two teams were tied 2-2 after one inning of play.

Northwestern gained a run back in the 2nd inning with an RBI from Shayla Munyan that scored Gianna Desimone. Abby Kraemer pitched out of the situation, leaving a runner on third.

Northwestern added on to the lead in the top of the 4th, scoring three runs on four hits to take a 6-2 lead.

Dordt answered by scoring two in the bottom of the 4th. Becky Pedersen singled to right, followed by a double from Chandler Schemper. Kayla Zevenbergen came up to the plate later in the inning and hit a single that drove in two Dordt runners.

Northwestern would add one more run in the top of the 6th, and did not allow any hits in the following two innings, leading to a 7-4 win.

Becky Pedersen was 1-3 with 1 RBI and 1 run scored


Dordt will play William Penn at 10:00 am and Warner at 12:15 tomorrow in Kissimmee, Florida
