Concordia def. Dordt 5-2


Dordt faced Concordia in game one of the doubleheader on Senior Day, as the Bulldogs defeated the Defenders with a strong pitching performance and offensive output.

Concordia jumped out to a 1-0 lead on a leadoff home run by Hhana Haro. The next two batters proceeded to reach on singles, but Dordt kept the scoring to a minimum to end the inning.

The next run came in the bottom of the 2nd inning, as Dordt was able to tie the game at 1. Hannah Sikkema reached on an error and later scored on Chandler Schemper's bunt single.

The Bulldogs retook the lead 2-1 in the 3rd when Camry Moore hit an RBI double to center field. In the next inning, Caitlyn McGarvie hit a leadoff single and later scored on Haro's RBI single, followed by an error that led to another run. The Concordia lead was extended to 5-1 when Allysia Thayer hit an RBI single to right.

The Defenders gained a run back in the bottom of the 5th as Brooklyn Van Oort hit a leadoff double, later scoring on a fielder's choice. However, Concordia held on to the lead for the remainder of the contest, winning today's conference matchup.
