Dordt def. Dakota Wesleyan 6-1

THE DETAILS

Dordt never trailed and secured a 6-1 win over Dakota Wesleyan in GPAC play this afternoon in Sioux Center.

Dordt got a run in the first inning on a Rachel Evavold single and the Tigers came back with a run in the top of the second while taking advantage of a Dordt error.

Dordt unlocked the tie with a two run fourth inning when Hailey Heeringa doubled and Rachel Evavold followed with a double to score a run and Emma Veenstra added a double for Dordt to get another run across.

Dordt added a run on two hits in the fifth and then ended the scoring with a two run sixth inning with Kenzie Cunard singling in a run and Hannah Sikkema also had a run scoring single.

While Dordt’s offense was pounding out 13 hits Abby Kraemer allowed an unearned run on four hits with seven strikeouts and no walks.

Cunard was 3-4 with three singles and three runs scored.

Jessica Oules, Heeringa, Evavold and Veenstra all had two hits with all but Oules getting a single and a double.  Oules had a pair of singles and Evavold knocked in two.
