Dordt def. Jamestown 9-8
The Dordt Defenders and Jamestown Jimmies faced off in game two of Saturday's GPAC doubleheader, and Dordt took a late lead to pick up the conference victory.
The Defenders opened up the scoring in the 1st inning after John Emerson reached on a single and was batted in on Logan Cline's 2-run home run.
In the 2nd, Jamestown added 4 runs on 4 hits, but the Defenders took back the lead in the bottom of the inning. Aaron Eshelman hit a one-out single, followed by a double from Lucas Nelson. Later in the inning, John Emerson hit a single to left field, scoring Nelson. With the bases loaded, Chase Edwards hit a single to center, allowing both Emerson and Austin Pullar to score.
With Jamestown trailing 5-4 in the top of the 3rd, the Jimmies scored two runs on a home run from Brice Foster. The Defenders limited the damage, though, and tied the game in the 4th on Cline's RBI single.
In the next inning, trailing by one run, Dordt jumped out to a 9-7 lead on Austin Pullar's 3-run home run that scored Eshelman and Andrew Pullar.
Nick Yeager came in to pitch in the top of the 7th, only allowing 1 run to maintain Dordt's lead.

Dordt will play Northwestern in a four-game weekend series vs. Northwestern on April 9 and 10. Friday's first pitch is scheduled for 4:00 pm.
