Jamestown def. Dordt 12-4
Jamestown used three homeruns to get past the Dordt Defenders in game one of their doubleheader 12-4 on Saturday afternoon in Sioux Center.
Jamestown scored on a couple unearned runs in the first inning with Dordt getting one run back in the bottom of the first on a Chase Edwards sacrifice fly that scored John Emerson.
A four run outburst by the Jimmies in the third inning put them up 6-1 and they added a run in the fourth to go up 7-1. Dordt got two runs back in the bottom of the fourth with Lucas Nelson delivering a single and a fielder’s choice by Austin Pullar scored another run. Dordt threatened to add to cut further into the lead but Logan Cline pulled a long flyball foul that would have got the Defenders within 7-6. Instead he was retired two pitches later and the inning ended with Jamestown still up 7-3.
Jamestown scored three unanswered and Dordt got one back on a Chase Edwards sacrifice fly for the 12-4 final.
