Concordia def. Dordt 8-3


Dordt played Concordia in another doubleheader Saturday afternoon, and the Bulldogs defeated the Defenders 8-3 in the first game of the day.

Concordia got on the board first with a sacrifice fly to take an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st.

The Defenders pulled ahead in the 3rd when Austin Pullar hit a 2-run home run that scored Brock Spade, who previously hit a leadoff single. Dordt then scored again later in the inning as Chase Edwards singled to right with two runners on base, giving Dordt a 3-1 lead.

In the bottom of the inning, Concordia earned back a run in a three-hit inning to make the score 3-2.

The Bulldogs put together a six-run inning in the bottom of the 6th that included a 3-run home run from Teyt Johnson. Following a pair of RBI singles and an RBI double, Concordia took an 8-3 lead with one inning remaining.

Brock Spade opened the top of the 7th with a single, and Parker Hamann stole second on a pinch running appearance, but Concordia's Nick Little struck out the next three batters in a complete game victory against the Defenders.
