THE MEET

The Dordt Defender women’s golf team is in 11th place after day one of the GPAC Championships held at The Dakota Dunes in Dakota Dunes, South Dakota.

The Defenders shot a 409 on day one and are 17 strokes behind Doane while Hastings and Mount Marty are tied for eighth place with a 391.  Morningside is running away from the field after day one with a 45 stroke lead over Dakota Wesleyan 316-361.

Tess Hemmila has a 99 and is tied for 36th overall and Rylie Brown is three strokes back of her with a 102 and is in 43rd place for Dordt.

Morningside’s Sam Knight leads the field with a 76 and is one stroke in front of her teammate Laia Badosa.

59 golfers and 11 teams make up the field.
