Dordt def. Mount Marty 1-0
HOW IT HAPPENED
Tonight's game opened with a quick score for the Defenders as Nathan Wanninger facilitated a 1-0 lead with an assist from Blake Hansen. It was the lone goal in the contest as the shots on goal were minimal for both teams. The first half saw five shot attempts for each side, with the final attempt coming from Joey Callan of Mount Marty. The shot on goal was saved by Brandon Hansen to preserve Dordt's lead into the half.
The Lancers increased their scoring opportunities in the second half, but were unable to match the Defenders. Mount Marty had two one-on-one opportunities in the final minute, but the Dordt defense collapsed to alter the first shot. In one final chance to tie the game, Brandon Hansen moved out of the goal to block the shot that could have sent the game to overtime.
