SCORE
Dakota Wesleyan def. Dordt 2-0
HOW IT HAPPENED
Dordt found themselves in an even matchup for the first part of tonight's game. The Defenders opened with control of the ball, and Asher Brown's first shot two minutes into the game went above the goal. Both teams distributed a relatively even time of possession in the first half, and Dordt had 5 first-half shots on goal while the Tigers had 3.
The Defenders were unable to score off of two early chances in the second half. Blake Hansen had a breakaway opportunity with Dakota Wesleyan's goalkeeper out of place, but Nicolas Morillo came from behind the play to block the shot and keep the game scoreless. Dakota Wesleyan gained momentum following a goal from Carson Fox with 31:49 left on the clock. Nearly fifteen minutes later, Ndrin Maloku added another goal for the Tigers to make the score 2-0. Luke Foster's attempt to cut the deficit in half with ten minutes to go saw the ball go wide of the net on Dordt's final one-on-one opportunity of the game.
