William Penn def. Dordt 9-2
HOW IT HAPPENED
William Penn scored nine runs in the first two innings on the way to a 9-2 win over Dordt on Wednesday in Tucson, Arizona.
Dordt’s runs came in the second and fifth innings.
The second inning run came when Logan Cline tripled and John Emerson delivered a sacrifice fly. Emerson scored Dordt’s run in the fifth inning when he scored from second on an Andrew Pullar single.
Dordt used three pitchers with Jadon Vander Molen pitching most effectively for the Defenders. He gave up one run on four hits with a walk and a strikeout.
Lucas Nelson pitched an inning of shutout baseball and allowed one hits with a walk and a strikeout.
Dordt is now 4-11 overall and 1-3 in league play.
