Dordt def. Presentation 10-1
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Dordt Defender softball team scored five runs in the fifth inning to pull away from a 3-1 advantage and beat Presentation on Saturday morning in Aberdeen, South Dakota.
Dordt got one run each in the second, third and fourth innings before putting up five in the fifth and two in the sixth. The Saints got their only run in the fourth inning.
Natalie Fopma got the win while working six innings and struck out four with one run and three hits while walking none.
Fopma also had three singles and a run scored.
Erin Wieringa clubbed a pinch-hit two run homerun in the sixth inning to end the game.
Hailey Heeringa also had a homerun and two runs batted in.
Jessica Flaherty had a double and Brooklyn Van Oort had a pair of doubles and scored three runs.
Dordt had a 13-3 hits advantage and didn’t commit an error.
Dordt will be off until February 28 and 29 when the Defenders are scheduled to go to MidAmerica Nazarene and Park for a pair of non-conference doubleheaders.
