Jamestown def. Dordt 3-0 (25-20, 25-12, 25-15)
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Dordt men’s volleyball lost a 3-0 decision to Jamestown on Friday, March 6 in Jamestown, North Dakota.
The Defenders never led in set one and had to battle back from an early 10-5 deficit that grew to 16-8. The Defenders battled back to within 22-20 after a block by Shavon Barker and Caleb Kulesza but a kill after a timeout by Jamestown put them at 23-20 and the hosts proceeded to score the next two points on back to back kills for the win.
Jamestown used a fast start in set two to get up 16-6 and Dordt was never able to challenge in the set and fell 25-12. The Jimmies used that momentum to get up 15-7 in set three and won the final set 25-15.
Dordt had 24 kills and was led by Garret Vander Zee with 11 kills and Brandon Vaags had five.
Tyler Postma had 18 assists and Dordt had a kill efficiency of .092.
Levi Ewald had eight digs and Kulesza had six.
Barker had three block assists and one solo block.
Dordt is 4-9 overall and 0-7 in the league.
Dordt will host Lincoln (Illinois) on Saturday at 1:00 pm.
