HOW IT HAPPENED
The Dordt hockey team suffered its second loss of the weekend in a 7-3 defeat to Missouri State on Saturday.
Jaren Brue gave Dordt the early 1-0 lead five minutes into the first period. Christopher Reda tied it at one eight minutes later and Sean Sullivan made it 2-1 in favor of Missouri State with three minutes left in the first.
Chirstian Catalano scored the first of Missouri State's four second period goals 30 seconds in to the second. Ethan Dabbs made it 4-1 three minutes later. Nathan Dallas made it 5-1 with 12 minutes to play and Nicholas Gray scored the final goal of the second four minutes later to make it 6-1.
Jaren Brue scored his second of the game a few minutes into the third period. Visscher continued his scoring streak with a goal with 10 minutes to play and made it 6-3. Sean Sullivan scored the final goal of the game a minute later giving Missouri State the 7-3 victory.
David Burns had 28 saves in the game.
Dordt had 11 penalties in the loss.
MISSOURI STATE NUMBERS
Matt Griffin had 21 saves in the win.
The Bears had 12 penalties in the victory.
Dordt will play a double header against Creighton next weekend in Sioux Center. The Friday game will begin at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday will start at 1:00 p.m.
