Jamestown defeats Dordt 3-0
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Dordt Defenders lost a 3-0 decision to Jamestown in game one of their doubleheader in GPAC play on Friday afternoon in Sioux Center, Iowa.
Jamestown scored one in the top of the first by stringing four hits together and the visitors took advantage of an error in the second to score two unearned runs and held on for a 3-0 win.
Dordt’s chances were limited with the best chance coming in the bottom of the sixth when Erin Bredeumus singled off the inning and Jessica Oules reached on a walk. Dordt couldn’t keep the threat going though with a fielder’s choice a pair of ground outs ending the threat.
Tianna Soodsma went the distance and allowed one earned runs on ten hits with no walks and two strikeouts.
Rachel Evavold, Carley De Roin and Erin Bredemus all had singles for Dordt and Oules walk in the sixth was the only base on balls surrendered by Jamestown pitching.
