Dordt def. Presentation 89-43
HOW IT HAPPENED
Presentation offered little resistance as the Dordt Defenders built their season record to 6-0 with a convincing 89-43 win over the Saints in Orange City on Saturday morning, November 10.
A 10-0 run midway through the first quarter gave Dordt a 14-4 lead and the Defenders were up 20-7 at the end of the first quarter. The lead quickly grew to 22 points after a Jordyn Van Maanen basket with 7:01 left in the half and the difference was 32 after Karly Gustafson got a bucket with 3:31 left in the half. Dordt’s lead was 48-18 at halftime.
Dordt outscored Presentation 17-16 in the third quarter and most of the fourth quarter was played at a 40 point advantage for the Defenders before finishing with an 89-43 decision.
Dordt was 33-74 from the field and forced 31 turnovers. Dordt converted 6-24 three-point shots and 17-20 free throws.
Presentation was 15-51 from the field and 6-15 from the arc.
Dordt had a 46-35 rebounding edge and got 15 offensive rebounds.
Erika Feenstra scored 22 points with four rebounds.
Gabby Kreykes came off the bench to score 14 and had five steals.
Jordyn Van Maanen added 11 points and Karly Gustafson had nine.
Dordt is 6-0 and will host Dakota Wesleyan in a GPAC contest on Wednesday, November 13 at 6:00.
