HOW IT HAPPENED
The Dordt Defender women’s basketball team improved to 4-0 this season with a 70-57 win over Rochester (Michigan) in a game played at Trinity Christian College on Saturday, November 2.
Dordt led 19-13 after one quarter and got up 41-25 at halftime. The Defenders were never truly threatened in the second half but were unable to blow the game open and ended up winning 70-57 as Rochester outscored the Defenders 32-29 in the second half.
THE NUMBERS
Dordt was 25-68 from the field and 5-25 from the three-point arc.
Rochester as 22-53 from the floor and turned in a 3-19 three-point shooting performance.
Erika Feenstra led Dordt with 26 points and 10 rebounds.
Rachel Evavold and Karly Gustafson each had nine points and Gabby Kreykes added eight points with seven rebounds. Evavold grabbed six rebounds.
Dordt had a 46-30 rebounding advantage and had 21 offensive rebounds.
RECORDS
Dordt is 4-0 while Rochester falls to 1-5.
NEXT
Dordt will play a pair of games next Friday and Saturday, November 8 and 9 at Northwestern in Orange City against Presentation and Haskell.
