HOW IT HAPPENEDThe Dordt men's soccer team tied conference opponent Dakota Wesleyan 1-1 on Wednesday.
Neither team could find the back of the net in the first half despite numerous chances. The Defenders finished the half with four shots and Dakota Wesleyan had eight.
The Defenders were met with a flurry of Dakota Wesleyan shots in the opening ten minutes of the second half. Edgar Meza finally broke through in the 54th minute to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead.
Patrick Munsey finished a Mika De Vin assist in the 82nd minute to tie the match at one and send the teams to extra time.
Dordt managed one shot in the first overtime period and two in the second, but couldn't sneak anything past Dakota Wesleyan goalkeeper Matthew Cambell.
