HOW IT HAPPENED

The Dordt men's soccer team played the Jamestown Jimmies to a 0-0 tie on Thursday. Despite playing most of overtime with a one man advantage, the Defenders couldn't break the deadlock.

There were 42 shots throughout the 120 minutes, but both goalkeepers had phenomenal games to keep clean sheets.

Seth Lewison faced eight shots in the first half with the majority coming in the opening 10 minutes. Asher Brown had an opportunity early in the first half for the Defenders, but Alex Hamer made the save for Jamestown.

The Jimmies had 10 shots in the second half compared to seven for Dordt. Again, Lewison did his part to keep Dordt in striking distance.

As the teams went into overtime, Eric Fairtlough was given a red card a minute in to the first session for a reckless tackle on Lewison. The Jimmies mustered five shots in the second overtime period despite being down a man.

Mika De Vin had an opportunity with three minutes left in second overtime, but couldn't finish and Dordt earned the tie. The tie puts Dordt's overall record at 3-10-3.
