HOW IT HAPPENEDThe Dordt men's soccer team dropped a non-conference matchup to York on Saturday. The Defenders fell 4-1.
From the beginning, York dominated possession. Davi Mendonca found the top corner from 25 yards out in the seventh minute to give York a 1-0 advantage. Ten minutes later, Jorge Alencar finished an Otavio Avila assist to stretch the lead to two.
David Benthem scored his second goal of the year in the 26th minute to pull Dordt within one.
Giovanna Froldi answered fifteen minutes later to give York a 3-1 lead heading in to halftime.
The Defenders couldn't break through the York back line in the second half and a Vitor Timm goal in the 60th minute sealed the victory for the Panthers.

Dordt was outshot 26-6 in the game.
