HOW IT HAPPENED
A 4-1 win over Missouri State on Saturday gave the Dordt Blades their first victory of the season.
Mark Schouten found the back of the net first less than three minutes into the game to give Dordt the 1-0 lead.
Missouri State's Christopher Reda tied the game at one two minutes later.
Seth Vandergugten put Dordt back on top with ten minutes left to play in the opening period.
Two second period goals by the Blades gave them the 4-1 victory. Caleb Koomans scored first followed by Collin Price.
Putting more shots on net and being more aggressive in following rebounds gave Dordt the chances they needed to get the win.
Bryce Andry was in net for the entire game and had 32 saves.
Missouri State goalkeeper Graham Nave also have 32 saves.
The win improved Dordt's record to 1-13-1.
Dordt will face off against Nebraska on Friday at 6:30 p.m. in Lincoln.
