HOW IT HAPPENED
The Dordt College men’s hockey team suffered a 10-0 loss to Air Force on Saturday in the final game of their Colorado road trip.
Air Force had eight different scorers in the game.
Corey Gutierrez got things going for Air Force in the first period with Matt Hahn and James Norkosky also adding goals to head into the second with a 3-0 lead.
Jed Cutter scored the first of his three goals early in the second. Tim Perea added one a few minutes later to give Air Force the 5-0 lead. Cutter found the back of the net at the end of the second to give Air Force the 6-0 lead heading into the third.
Four third period goals finished the scoring for Air Force. Cutter struck first followed by Danny Linso, Shane Kelly and Matt Doudnikoff.
The Blades only managed 15 shots compared to Air Force’s 48.
David Burns and Sam Kingma split time in goal. Burns faced 40 shots and allowed seven goals. Kingma faced eight and allowed three.
The Blades will face off against South Dakota State at home next Saturday at 8 p.m.
