HOW IT HAPPENED

The Dordt men’s soccer team suffered a 3-2 loss to Ottawa in their second game in two days.

Sophomore Garrett Goodson struck first for Dordt in the second minute, but Ottawa tied the game in the 27th minute. Both teams went scoreless for the rest of the first half. 

Ottawa found the back of the net in the 61st minute to take a 2-1 lead, but an own goal by Ottawa 30 seconds later drew the teams equal.

Ottawa scored with three minutes left to win. 

NUMBERS

Dordt was outshot 11-9 overall and 6-5 on goal.

Goalkeeper Bryce Lindquist had three saves in the loss.

COACH ELGERSMA SAID

“There are bad wins and good losses, this was a good loss. There are a lot of learning lessons that we can bring into practice.”

UP NEXT

The men’s team has their home opener next Friday against Trinity Christian.
