HOW IT HAPPENED
Three different players scored in the Dordt men’s soccer team’s 5-1 victory over Presentation College on Saturday. The win started Dordt out 1-0 in conference play.
Patrick Munsey broke the deadlock less than two minutes in to give Dordt the 1-0 lead.
Mika De Vin tacked on another four minutes later to stretch the lead to two.
Nils Gulbranson scored his first goal of the game in the 23rd minute to give his team a 3-0 lead.
Presentation’s Kieren Clarke scored the Saints only goal of the game in the 32nd minute. Both teams went scoreless for the rest of the half.
Munsey scored his second goal of the game in the 57th minute and gave Dordt a 4-1 lead. Gulbranson put his second goal of the game away in the 67th minute and finalized Dordt’s 5-1 victory.
NUMBERS
Dordt outshot Presentation 17-4 overall and 9-4 in shots on goal.
Dordt goalkeeper Seth Lewison had three saves in the victory.
COACH ELGERSMA SAID
“The men had a great start. We played 25 of our best minutes to start the game. Our passing was crisp and our effort was tremendous from start to finish. It was a great way to the conference season.”

Dordt will face Dakota Wesleyan at home at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday to continue conference play.
