HOW IT HAPPENED
The Dordt College men’s soccer team used two late goals to defeat Waldorf 2-1 in their last game before conference play begins.
Waldorf struck first 15 minutes in to take a 1-0 lead. Neither team produced any offense for the rest of the first half.
The second half went on without much action until Gideon DeGraaf scored off of Garret Goodson’s corner kick in the 83rd minute.
The teams played the rest of regulation at a 1-1 tie and the match went into overtime.
It took less than two minutes into overtime for Garrett Goodson to finish a Colton Schreur cross and give Dordt the golden-goal victory.
Waldorf outshot Dordt 18-9 overall and 8-5 in shots on goal.
Dordt goalkeeper Seth Lewison had eight saves in the match.

“We possessed the ball well, and dealt with a very speedy quick team. It was a great way to finish the week.”
Dordt will open conference play at home against Presentation next Saturday at 3:15 p.m.
