The Dordt Blades lost a 5-3 decision to the South Dakota State JackRabbits on Saturday afternoon in Sioux Center. The contest was a non-conference affair and dropped the Blades to 2-4 for the season.

The Blades first two goals came from Caleb Groot and Logan Visser in the first period and Mark Schouten and Jacob Petrie assisted on the Visser goal.

The Blades’ Mark Schouten had a goal in the third period to get within 4-3 but South Dakota State locked up the win with a late in regulation on an empty net.

The Blades were outshot 52-34.

David Burns was in goal for the Blades.

Dordt will play three games this coming week, beginning on Thursday, in Colorado.  The Blades don’t return home until November 11 and 12 when they host Arkansas.
