Park defeats Dordt 3-0 (25-16, 25-14, 25-15)
HOW IT HAPPENED
Park University pulled away from Dordt in all three of its sets to forge a 3-0 league victory over the Defenders on Thursday night in Sioux Center.
The Defenders rallied to within 16-14 in set one off a kill by Shavon Barker but the Defenders got no closer as the visitors scored four unanswered points.
Set two was tied 7-7 before the visitors scored ten of the next 14 points to take control of the set and won it 25-14.
The Defenders also kept set three close to a 10-9 deficit before falling 25-15. It was an Alex Durbin kill that closed the gap to 10-9 but the Pirates scored four in a row stretch the lead.
Dordt had 18 kills and 20 attack errors in the loss.
Durbin had six kills and Ben Tiemersma had five kills.
Tyler Postma put up 16 assists and Mark Schussler had nine digs.
The win was Park's 14th of the season.
Dordt will host Ottawa on Saturday night, March 24 in a 7:00 start.
