Robert Morris defeats Dordt 3-0 (25-17, 25-17, 25-9)
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Dordt Defender volleyball team couldn’t keep up with Robert Morris on Saturday in a match played at Arlington Heights, Illinois.
The Defenders fell behind 15-10 after trailing 9-7 early. Dordt trimmed the lead to 16-14 on a Kal Bryan kill but the Defenders got no closer than three the rest of the set and lost 25-17.
Dordt led briefly in set two 12-9 after point off a block by Tyler Postma and Alex Durbin. Five unanswered by the hosts put them up 14-9 and it was enough of a difference to secure a 25-17 win.
Robert Morris controlled set three and won a 25-9 decision, finishing the set with an 11 point run.
Robert Morris had a 35-20 kills advantage with a kill efficiency of .259 while Dordt hit -.012.
Kal Bryan had seven kllls and Ben Tiemersma recorded four kills.
Tyler Postma was good for 14 assists and Cobi Jones had seven digs and one service ace.
Mark Schussler had a team high eight digs.
